Create smart industry tools for industry 4.0
In short, the assignment is to create smart industry tools (capacity tools, global manufacturing dashboards, material handling equipment tool, etc.) using different Excel and BI software. The tools will be implemented on local and/or global level.
We are looking for a bachelor or master student Computer Science, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering (& Management), Mechanical Engineering, or similar studies, who is available for a period of 3 to 6 months.
- AdvancedExcel VBA programming (or R, Python, Matlab, C++ or similar programming skills)
- Passionate for Excel
- Experience with BI tools
- SQL databases
- Knowledge of smart industry tools
Corporate Manufacturing Department
To create higher benchmarks in manufacturing, the company set up the Corporate Manufacturing Department in 2014 with its headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The department’s responsibility is to create a centre of manufacturing excellence by ensuring continuous process improvements, leveraging level of manufacturing efficiency, and minimizing conversion costs across all plants. The department consists of a multi-cultural team andhas a strong focus on improving and/or implementing new standards and lean processes globally.
You will be based out of the office in Amsterdam (Bijlmer Arena area). However, visits to the plant in Enschede are most likely to be part of the assignment.
Nowadays machines are producing more and more data. Together with a manufacturing execution system this can give a lot of insight on what is happening on the shopfloor. Extracting data from the right place at the right time for the right people is essential in improving production efficiencies. Based on stakeholder requirements information needs to be visualized in a standardized way in order to make quick business decisions.
