UX Designer
You will be part of international interdisciplinary team that will research the problem at hand, redefine it, verify your findings, create concepts, develop prototypes and test them with your target group for a real client.

As the learning experience designer of DSS, I take care that you get the most out of your programme with us, you get challenged, inspired and a sensible amount of confused! Get ready to collaborate with people from different backgrounds, learn new ways to design, and to create meaningful solutions to social problems!
//what are you a part of
You will work in multidisciplinary teams guided by experts from the industry and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. These experts are a mix of designers, programmers, social/digital media experts, researchers, copywriters and storytellers. In twenty weeks (one semester) your team develops a working prototype in collaboration with your client.
Your team works five days a week in Studio HvA or at the client’s office. Additionally, you have one day a week to work on the documentation of your internship or graduation project. The program is in English and available to all students, recent graduates and mid-careers.

You and your team will research the problem at hand, redefine it, verify your findings, create concepts, develop prototypes and test them with your target group. You will repeat this process 6 times in self-contained sprints of three weeks.
You yourself will focus on the subject you are specialised and enrich your team with expert insights.

In Digital Society School our projects are clustered in trend-related programmes called Tracks: ‘Data Driven Transformation’ and ‘New ways of Organizing Systems’. More info about the projects can be found at: digitalsocietyschool.org/#track-cards
//Internship Positions
Designer (2/3rd year student or graduate)
How can you design for society? In this Track we will use a user-centered design approach. You will be working closely with different stakeholders and together you will come up with tools, methods and solutions for a societal challenge. Together with the city and its citizens we will design for societal impact to create solutions for the society of tomorrow.
//Requirements
- You’re fluent in English, writing and speech.
- We expect you to be present at the office 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
- For 8 hours a week students will work on either their personal development or thesis.
