Experimental data analysis and modelling

We are developing a new technology of 3D printing based on a combination of ideas from Computed Tomography and Photolithography. A patterned light of several wavelengths is used to cure (solidify) a liquid polymer into a 3D shape.

The project has two goals:

(1) improve our model of the light-polymer interaction to achieve better accuracy

(2) test various illumination scenarios through simulations to get insights about hardware optimization, speed and resolution

Both tasks can be accomplished by using the models previously developed at Photosynthetic and analysing the data that is currently collected in the lab. All of the experimental work is done at the Demonstrator Lab of the Vrije Universiteit.
